A magnificent and rare complete gentleman's formal dress set by one of the most celebrated and historically significant luxury jewelry houses in the world, presented in its original Royal Warrant presentation box.

The Maker — Mappin & Webb: Mappin & Webb is the Crown Jeweller to the British Royal Family — the custodian of the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London — and has held Royal Warrants to British monarchs continuously since 1897. Founded in Sheffield in 1775, the firm created Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee necklace in 1888 and has served as royal jeweler to six consecutive British monarchs. Patrons have included the Russian Imperial Family, Princess Grace of Monaco, Charles Dickens, and Winston Churchill. A piece bearing the Mappin & Webb Royal Warrant is among the highest attestations of quality and provenance in British jewelry.

The Set: This exceptional 11-piece white tie formal dress set consists of two pairs of double-sided cufflinks and seven matching shirt and vest studs in graduated sizes — a complete full dress set for the most formal of white tie occasions.

Each piece features a deeply domed, high-luster mother of pearl disc of exceptional quality, centered with a bezel-set seed pearl, and framed by a beautifully hand-engraved decorative platinum border with a delicate scrolling motif. The combination of platinum settings, luminous domed MOP, and centered seed pearls is a hallmark of the finest Edwardian and early Art Deco English jewelry of circa 1905–1925. The cufflink backs are polished domed yellow gold connected by elegant chain links — the classic Edwardian double-sided construction. Every piece is stamped with platinum and gold hallmarks on the reverse.
